We are a mutual self-help, peer support and resource exchange group for persons living with mental health, substance use and/or health conditions who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, two-spirit, questioning adults and our allies. It’s a safe space to explore our dualities, discover recovery opportunities and alternatives to suicide, self-abuse, trauma, loneliness, etc.

William Way Center Peer Counseling

The Peer Counseling Program of the William Way LGBT Community Center offers one-to-one counseling that is confidential and free of charge. We offer short-term, goal-oriented counseling.

Peer counselors are not therapists, and we do not diagnose or prescribe medication. We are volunteers trained and supervised by mental health professionals. We work closely with our clients to help them make changes and see results.

In addition, we can offer clients referrals to resources and information on a variety of issues including organizations, support groups, therapist and more.

We are an affirming, nurturing, safe environment for LGBTQ youth, their parents and allies.

We work to expand acceptance, authenticity, inclusiveness, empowerment, and a healthy attitude in our community.

We meet the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30.

During meetings we do activities, play games and have fun!

Parents have time to talk and the kids have time to just hang out.

  • Our activities have included a hayride, the Escape Room, and Painting with a Twist.
